# Privacy

This notice describes the information collected through johnzettler.com and how it is used. No advertising is placed on the site, no tracking cookies are set by it, and no information is sold.

## Analytics

Visits are measured with Plausible Analytics, a cookieless service based in the European Union. The page viewed, referring site, country and city, device and browser type, and scroll depth are recorded, as are clicks on contact and outbound links and downloads of files hosted here. IP addresses are used only to generate an anonymous identifier that changes daily, and are not stored.

## Subscriptions

Email addresses submitted through the subscription form are used only to send newsletters and are retained until the subscription is cancelled. To prevent fraudulent signups, the IP address, approximate location, network and browser of each submission are also recorded.

## Service providers

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also stores subscriber data; email is delivered by Resend; analytics are processed by Plausible. Some pages embed third-party content, such as YouTube videos in its privacy-enhanced mode; that content is loaded from its provider, which receives the IP address and browser information of the visitor and applies its own terms. Google Slides decks are loaded from Google only once a visitor opens one. Information is not otherwise shared.

## Legal basis and rights

Information is processed on the basis of consent (subscriptions) and legitimate interest (analytics and security). Subscribers may unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter. Other requests may be directed to privacy@johnzettler.com.
